Hospitals of the future

Plans for an exciting vision for two new hospitals at Leeds General Infirmary are now available to view.

The NHS intend to create two new hospitals; one for adult care and one specifically designed for children and young people.

According to hospitals of the future for Leeds, ‘some of the oldest buildings as Leeds General Infirmary can’t be used because they don’t meet standards for providing modern healthcare’.

Therefore it is vital that they get new hospitals to deliver the very best specialist treatment and facilities in Leeds. They are hoping to replace buildings such as the nurse’s home, however some of the hospitals oldest buildings are among the most iconic In Leeds, so these will be sympathetically redeveloped.

Directors estimate the cost of the new project will total at £450 million and they wish to begin work in 3-4years.
