Where the rich and powerful went to university

Where you attend university can have a huge impact on the rest of your life. If you attend elite universities you may very well end up with an elite job like a doctor or lawyer and so on. But what about the UK’s highest earners – the FTSE100 CEOs.

The FTSE 100 are the UK’s biggest companies listed on the London Stock Exchange with the highest market capitalisation in the world, so you’d assume the board of directors are fairly well off. But where did they go to university?

As shown by the visual below, you can clearly see that the majority of universities that super wealthy people go to are on the east coast of America and in England

The information in this infographic was gathered using the website companieshouse.gov.uk to find out the names of the people sitting on the board of directors in the FTSE 100. Next we visited every board member’s Bloomberg or Linkedin page to find out where they went to university. Using the data we plotted this graph.
