Carnegie American football stars travel down to London to test their skills

CAF ( Carnegie American Football) tight end and GB athlete , Henry Rowland , spoke to Ben Conway after his busy weekend down in London.

Several players from Leeds Beckett’s American football team made it down to London to take part in the YouTuber challenge ‘Deestroying’ Famous 1v1 .

Baltimore Ravens faced the Tennessee Titans at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium , but what happened pre match was the main talking point within the Leeds Beckett American Football team.

Deestroying has 5.4 million subscribers , and creates content around the US testing different people’s sporting ability .

Henry Rowland progressed to the next stage by impressing with his blocking abilities along with CAF’s running back Daniel Francis . By progressing these boys had the chance to win the cash prize of £10,000.

Daniel Francis, who came to Leeds from Miami in 2021 , referred to his move as ” a great experience more than anything else”. This season his goal is to win the national championship with Leeds Beckett after suffering defeat in the semi finals last year.

Whilst representing his country , Henry compares these experiences as he talks about this recent event ” It was really cool … it wasn’t the same intensity as playing for GB as we didn’t use pads but the standard was really good and it was very fun.”

A dream to win a Championship ring has already been fulfilled by Henry , as he won for Loughborough last year , but this year he returns to Leeds Beckett and would love to win with CAF.

In the future , Henry is looking to continue playing for his national team but a potential move to Germany is on the cards but he also says “I’ll see where football takes me.”

In the future, Henry is looking to continue representing his nation and potentially play abroad in Germany as part of the GFL but ultimately says “I’ll see where football takes me.”

After going through the tough times being a Cleveland Browns fan , Henry says it would be a dream to play for them one day.
